Administrators can limit the print and copy output of users using the ROLES function in the StratoQ.com admin page. When you want to put a governor on usage, or if you are charging your end users for their prints and copies, you can give them a quota and manage it via the dashboard.
NOTE: This feature is supported on Sharp OSA devices only, and will only work if the device is in External Accounting mode.
Creating a Quota
By default, quotas are disabled. If you would like to enable them just log in as a customer admin and go to SETTINGS. The Quotas are based on a currency amount, so you will first need to create a default pricing model (SETTINGS > Pricing).
First, enable the Quotas check box. This will enable quotas for all users and will add a quota value to each user. All users will immediately be assigned to the existing "Default" quota model. You can change the name of this model but you cannot delete it. All new users that are auto-created will be assigned to this model automatically.
Next, set a value and a schedule for the default quota model, and then click "Reset Balances". This will set ALL users with the default role to that value (otherwise they will have a balance of 0).
You can create as many quotas as you want, and these quotas can be assigned to users during creation or at any time after.
Managing Quotas
Once you've enabled quotas there will be additional fields available for each user, as well as a "Reset Quota" button. You can set the user's quota model on a per-user basis using the drop down.
Users' quotas will reset based off the frequency setting. If you need to add more funds to a user or reset the user's quota back to the quota model's default, simply find the user and update the Remaining Quota field.
User Experience
When Quotas are enabled the user will briefly see their quota during a device login. They will also see the remaining balance in place of the StratoQ logo at the top left of the MFP Standard app.
StratoQ does not prevent a user from going over the quota, but when the value becomes negative it will prevent all other copies and prints until the value is positive again.
