StratoQ allows for card authentication on Sharp devices both in Standard and External Accounting mode.
When a user first taps her card StratoQ will check the customer's users to determine if the card exists already. If it does not, the user will be asked to self-associate the card. After a successful login the user will be asked to tap the card again to confirm. Once this is done the user can simply tap the same card to login immediately at any device in the fleet.
To enable card authentication for the devices in a fleet, just set card authentication as the Primary Authentication method in the device's settings at StratoQ.com.
IC Mode vs Keyboard Mode
If the device is set up in IC card mode the card event will be recognized regardless of whether or not Card Authentication is set up as the primary login method. IC mode can only be used when the device is in External Accounting mode. IC mode encrypts the card number, but can also cause some stability issues.
We recommend using Keyboard emulation mode with encryption via the reader's firmware. To set this mode simply plug the reader into the USB port of the device and make sure that the card output can be read by the device via a firmware text dialog (like the ADMIN login). You should see the number in a text field when you tap the badge. If this is not working, make sure to disable "IC Mode" in the device's admin page. You may also need to log into the Admin page via the device itself and delete that card reader from the devices memory and unplug/replug it.
