StratoQ supports Two-Step / MFA Authentication via the Google Authenticator app. This mobile app is available for both Android and iOS, and it allows us to verify you as a user by displaying a 6-digit number on your phone that refreshes at a set interval.
There are two main reasons why you would set up this mobile app.
Usability - By installing this App you may be able to avoid entering your G Suite or Gmail password every time you log into the StratoQ app on the MFD. You would simply need to enter your username and then the current 6-digit number that is displayed within the app on your mobile device. This is helpful if your password policy is long or if it includes special characters that are hard to type on the MFD screen.
Security - By using the Authenticator app we can be more sure that you are who you say you are, and for this reason many administrators may REQUIRE that you use this app when logging into StratoQ.
In order to use the Google Authenticator app you must first install the mobile app on your device. After this you will need to pair your mobile device with the StratoQ service. You can do this either through a login at stratoq.com or through an MFD that supports this function.
You'll first need to enter your username, and then you can use the built-in barcode reader of the mobile app to scan the QR code that is presented within StratoQ.
After doing this, you should be able to use the mobile app to authenticate to StratoQ.
